Drama series starring Stephen Fry as Peter Kingdom, a respected small-town solicitor struggling to cope following the disappearance of his brother and business partner Simon, believed drowned after his clothes were found on a beach. His life is complicated further by the arrival of his disruptive half-sister, recently released from rehab and determined to wreak havoc. Peter is called to the police station to collect his brother's belongings, and then heads for his office where his loyal receptionist and his young clerk are waiting for him, along with the usual flow of colourful and eccentric people in search of legal advice. But as his day progresses, it seems the mystery surrounding his brother's disappearance may be about to deepen.
