The Goodmen Band with Mike Goudreau; vocalist/guitarist and composer, well known as the leader of The Boppin Blues Band and having produced 11 Jazz & Blues albums since 1993. Organist Lorrie Goodman who produced 3 Jazz albums with "The Organization" and drummer Stéphane Jetté who's worked with many Montreal Blues artists. This trio is a throwback to a concept that was very popular in the late fifties, sixties and seventies: "The Organ Trio".
Their new CD 'Dancing Shoes' presents 15 new songs featuring 14 original compositions co-written by Goodman and Goudreau. Funky grooves ala Meters/ Maceo Parker, swing ala Jimmy Smith, McGriff, McDuff, full tilt Blues ala Albert King (back in the days when he collaborated with Booker T and Stax Records), Southern Soul / Gospel ala Al Green/Otis Reiding and a few New Orleans type grooves, all done in the 'Goodmen' way.
