A London cabbie for twenty years, Harry Harris has a life-long love of history. He's a trained history guide, but has a thirst for knowledge and is always keen to learn more. On this round-Britain taxi tour he discovers a whole range of fascinating secret stories from World War II.
Episode 1 - Flirting with Hitler
In a TV first, Harry investigates the fascinating story of a Great War veteran's peace mission and uncovers the story and some unique images from an unexpected meeting with Adolf Hitler.
Harry also reveals for the first time on television photographs of Luftwaffe pilots being buried with full military honours by the RAF in an East End cemetery in 1944.
Episode 2 - Nazi Invasion
Harry gets unique access to Hitler's detailed plans for the invasion of England which have never been on public display.
Episode 3 - Battle of Britain Mystery
A 93 year old former Spitfire girl Mary Ellis becomes the oldest person ever to return to the skies in one of the iconic Battle of Britain fighters.
Also, the daughter of a flying ace shot down over Kent 70 years ago joins in the search for the wreckage of his Hurricane in a back garden.
Episode 4 - Outwitting Hitler
Harry uncovers previously unseen film of the devastation caused to his home patch, the East End of London.
He then investigates how the Brits used their brains to retaliate against Hitler with remote-controlled flying planes, top secret petrol pipelines under the ocean and deceive the Nazis with ingenious deception techniques including building a fake army.
Episode 5 - D-Day Disasters
A D-Day veteran reveals for the first time how marker buoys in the English Channel almost gave the Nazis 24 hours' notice of the Normandy Landings.
Also featured is the British military memorabilia collector who reveals how he discovered the skeleton of a German soldier whilst unearthing the secrets of a long-lost Nazi gun battery.
Plus a women in North Devon speaks for the first time on TV about the friendly wartime 'invasion' of American soldiers - and reveals some of the never-before-seen mementos that they left behind.
